Streets are slowly getting covered with more fallen leaves, days are getting shorter and especially cooler. Fall is kicking in! So it’s time to think about your winter coat.
There might be tons of different coats you could wear this winter, but my favourite for the last few years is the topcoat. The topcoat is the most versatile of coats. You can wear it casual, business-like on your way to work or more sophisticated during evening events. Searching online and on social media, I saw a lot of different looks that are all based on a topcoat. So I chose three looks that you could base your own winter look on.
Deep blue is a perfect colour for winter. It it not as dark as black, but it is still a strong basic colour to combine with lighter shades and one particular showpiece.
Plaids and pastels
Prints in a monochrome coat make the item more interesting without screaming for attention. A colour like grey allows you to play with colours like soft pastels. No boring winter days with this look.
Go for it!
Going for attention this fall? Than try a flashy coat in burgundy, emerald green or even something brighter like orange or sky blue. When going for bright you should tone down the other items, because they support the outfit. You could work with a print of graphic design, but you’ll have to watch out for making your look too striking.
Have fun with shopping for your own topcoat. It might take some time, but eventually you’ll have a perfect winter essential.
