If you haven’t noticed by all the buzz on social media and cover stories on tv, it’s Fashion Week season! And during times of continuous shows, you’d think the fashion crowd takes a breath from its rapid fire of new collections. Well, you’re wrong.

The street as their runway

In between shows, the in-crowd makes the street their runway. Because while the paparazzi are all standing around the catwalk inside, street style photographers are hunting for unique looks outside. And every fashionite wants to be the center of that photographer’s camera lens. Because that shot could be watched by thousands of people, for street style photographers are just as famous as any Insta-celebrity.

Their feed is inspirational, they have an eye for unique items and they know the right angle to shoot the subject of fashion interest. To inspire you by these people, I’ve put together my favourite Street Style Instagrams.

Robert Spangle (@1000yardstyle)

Spangle works for British GQ. No wonder, because his taste in menswear style fits that of a prestigious menswear magazine. What makes his work different is that he captures more than just bright-coloured looks and striking apparel. He also chooses put-together looks that match a more common role. Because a look doesn’t have to stand out to really be stylish.

Jonathan Daniel Pryce (@garconjon)

What I like about Pryce’s shots is focus on detail. He can capture that one glance a model gives or use his surroundings with the right timing. It’s that technique that really makes Jonathan’s work stand out.

François-Xavier Watine (@webstylestory)

I love Watine’s technique of composition. The backgrounds, balance in colours and choice of looks really inspire a photo-loving fella like me!

Adam Katz Sinding (@le21eme)

I turn to Adam for the most unique looks. Not just in pieces, but also in faces. This American photographer has an eye for the extraordinary things in humans and things.
